How to play - step by step

  1. 1

Prepare prompts with two interesting options each.

  2. 2

Gather the group and mark two sides of the room as A and B.

  3. 3

Read a prompt aloud: “Would you rather work from a beach or a mountain cabin?”.

  4. 4

Everyone walks to the side that matches their choice.

  5. 5

Ask one person from each side to explain their choice in one sentence.

  6. 6

Repeat with a new prompt, mixing light and thoughtful questions.

Benefits

  • Helps new and quiet people open up quickly.
  • Builds trust and breaks down hierarchy between teams.
  • Creates shared stories and inside jokes that last.
  • Needs little or no preparation or budget.

What you need

  • A list of 15-20 prompts.
  • Two signs (A and B) or a poll on screen.
  • Optional: a timer.

Rules

  • No judging - every choice is valid.
  • Keep the options safe, inclusive, and work-appropriate.
  • Everyone can pass on a question.

Scoring and winning

  • This is a no-score game; the reward is conversation and laughter.

Prompt ideas

  • Always be 10 minutes early or 10 minutes late?
  • Work four long days or five short days?
  • Have a personal assistant or a personal chef?
  • Travel to the past or to the future?
  • Only eat your favourite meal or try something new every day?
  • Have a four-day weekend every week or an extra month of leave a year?

Variations

  • Work edition: meetings versus emails, or office versus home.
  • Team build: have teams predict how the other team will vote.
  • Creative: add a “why?” bonus round with the funniest justification.

Playing it online

  • Use a poll or the chat: type A or B.
  • Move one person to the spotlight each time to explain their pick.

Tips for the host

  • Keep a mix: silly, workplace, and thought-provoking.
  • Ask people to submit prompts beforehand.

Mistakes to avoid

  • Prompts that are too controversial or personal.
  • Letting one loud voice dominate.
  • Running too long - 20 minutes is enough.
