Location-based Attendance

Record where employees check in and optionally require them to be at their branch.

Overview

Location-based Attendance records the location when someone checks in and can optionally require them to be within range of their branch.

It suits teams with offices, sites, or field staff who need attendance proven by place. The feature is optional and enabled by an administrator, who also chooses how strict it is.

How it works - step by step

  1. 1An administrator enables the feature and picks a mode.
  2. 2Branch locations and their allowed range are set.
  3. 3Employees are assigned to their branches.
  4. 4At check-in, the location is recorded.
  5. 5If enforcement is on, check-in works only within range.
  6. 6Exceptions can be reviewed and regularised.

Key capabilities

  • Capture the location at check-in.
  • Optionally require employees to be at their branch (geo-fence).
  • Branches with locations and a range you set.
  • A mode you choose: record only, or enforce.
  • Exceptions visible to HR and managers.
  • Works alongside shifts and regularisation.

Benefits

  • More reliable attendance data.
  • Fewer proxy check-ins.
  • Flexibility to record or enforce.
  • Better compliance for site-based teams.

Who gets what

  • HR: attendance backed by location.
  • Managers: confidence that on-site means on-site.
  • Employees: a simple check-in with clear rules.

What it replaces

  • Biometric registers kept by hand.
  • Trust-based attendance with no check.
  • Separate field-staff trackers.

Common questions

Do we have to enforce the location?

No. You can simply record where employees check in, or enforce that they are at their branch.

Is it on by default?

No. An administrator enables it for your organisation.
